Advisor Spotlight - TONY DANIEL
Our newest Partner here at NMII, as of January 2022, is more than his title of Partner, Wealth Advisor, and Retirement Plan Specialist. He is more than his designations, CFP® and CPFA©. He is a girl dad, a husband, a friend, and a woodworker. His professional background, inspirations in life, and most importantly his family and friends have made him the man we want you to get to know better.
Tony’s Background
Tony grew up in Arkansas and moved to the Omaha area in time to attend Millard North High School. He went on to play College Baseball at Creighton University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies.
For the past two decades, Tony has worked in the corporate retirement plan space. Prior to joining NMII, he was the Regional Vice President (a fancy word for wholesaler) for Nationwide and MassMutual across both Nebraska and Iowa. He was responsible for helping businesses design and implement top of class retirement plan benefits for employees while helping financial advisors market and manage their corporate clients.
“It was a wonderful experience learning how businesses across multiple industries structure their benefits for employees. Learning how the best advisors in the territory manage their practices was a nice perk.” - Tony
What sets Tony apart as a financial advisor?
Tony is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ professional dedicated to providing the highest level of hands-on financial planning for individuals and corporations. With the complexities of the financial industry, he spends his time understanding the goals and current situations of his clients to provide an actionable game plan with duty and care.
“Providing direct financial advice and creating financial plans is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my career. This is not a position where a product is being sold. It is my responsibility to provide ongoing care in my client’s best interest.” - Tony
He cares about the individual and wants to help combat stress with one of the most emotional aspects of adulthood, money. His focus for clients revolves around these key areas: Financial Planning, Investment Management, Insurance Management, Retirement Planning, Tax (he is not a CPA), and Estate Planning. Through his experience as a wholesaler, he learned successful strategies from some of the best of the best but also what not to do from some of the worst of the worst. Tony considers himself a life long student, working to learn more about how he can expand on his mission to help others.
More Than a Financial Advisor
When Tony is not with a client, he can be found spending time with his wife and three girls, in his woodworking shop, or on the golf course. Or more likely, the latest movie release.
His family comes first which is also the NMII internal motto. If he had to pick a moment in his life that he is most proud of it would be the days he and his wife welcomed each of his three daughters into the world. Their family enjoys volunteering their time at Completely Kids. As with his approach to financial planning, his motivation for volunteering is to help others relieve stress in their lives
His Inspiration for Impacting the Lives of Others
Jocko Willink is a retired United States Navy officer who served in the Navy SEALs. He inspires Tony to be a better leader in all areas of life.
He is also inspired by the author and motivational speaker, Kevin Brown. Tony not only keeps a copy of his book The Hero Effect on hand, but he has extra copies to gift others when he feels it will make an impact on their lives.
Fun Facts
Tony received six write in votes for President of the United States from four different states.
And perhaps most importantly, if Tony had to eat one meal every day for the rest of his life what would it be? 2 slices of sausage pizza from Zio’s Pizza.
